Founding Team

Yousuf founded SITR to close the structural Shariah compliance coverage gap that no existing infrastructure addresses. Based in Bahrain, he leads the company’s commercial strategy, regulatory engagement, and institutional partnerships across the GCC.

His background spans private equity and Islamic banking, with experience at Investcorp, Bank ABC, and iibGroup. That combination of capital markets discipline and direct exposure to Islamic banking operations shaped his conviction that Shariah compliance had outgrown the sampling-based methodologies the industry inherited from conventional audit. SITR is the response to that gap.

Luyun serves on SITR’s board, providing strategic oversight across product positioning, market entry, and commercial architecture as the company scales across the GCC.

Luyun leads Piston’s strategy, client engagements, and delivery. His engineering work spans financial modeling and feature development for NYSE-scale quantitative funds and AI-native products inside the Valsoft portfolio. He directs Piston’s engagements across North America and the GCC.

Nicholas co-founded SITR and leads its engineering. He owns the platform’s architecture, the integration design, security model, and the technical standards that govern its deployment into regulated banking environments.

Nicholas leads Piston’s engineering, where his work focuses on ML models for production analysis and low-latency runtime infrastructure. He was previously a contributor to McGill robotics research and the engineer behind EMJ Capital’s quant infrastructure.
